Spay-Neuter Assistance

Friends Don't Let Friends Have Litters logo

Friends of the Shelter subsidizes spay/neuter costs for those in Northern Kentucky communities who would otherwise be unable to afford this important service. We offer services to individuals with pets in Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties only.

CATS

The Economic Veterinary Initiative is now partnering with Friends of the Shelter Northern Kentucky residents in our supported counties. You will pay $35 for Spay and $20 for Neuter. Proof of residence is required and it covers owned cats only. They are at 8018 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati. Visit the EVI Website for more information and to schedule: www.evicincinnati.com. We will be billed directly for the difference in cost. You do not need a voucher.

Companion cats who have access to the outside can be fixed through OAR (Ohio Alleycat Resource) or UCAN (United Coalition for Animals). This is now being subsidized by a grant from the Joanie Bernard Foundation, not Friends of the Shelter, so please contact OAR or UCAN with questions or to schedule. Do not contact us.

Outdoor or community cats, can be fixed for free through the OAR or UCAN grant. They will be ear-notched and returned to their outdoor community at no cost to you. Just call your local shelter, OAR or UCAN.

You can also apply for a voucher and use it at a local vet or another that we recommend. Depending on the size of the dog and the vet, the voucher will be from $60 to $100. Fill out the form below and Jan will contact you about your voucher.
